Hickory, N.C.----Wingate University junior Iran Almeida (Roanoke, Va.) is the Bluegrass Mountain Conference Swimmer of the Week, league officials announce Monday. Almeida won five events (three individual, two relay) as the number 20 Bulldogs defeated the number 17 Carson-Newman Eagles 196-119 in a two-day BMC dual meet this past weekend.
