Bluffton, S.C.----The Wingate University women's golf team finished third in the Battle at Old South Sunday with a 36-hole total of 590 (complete results). The Bulldogs shot a 299 Sunday after a record-setting first round of 291 Saturday. Lee (Tenn.) University shot a two-under-par 286 Sunday to take the team crown with a 580. UNC Pembroke hosted this annual event at the Old South Golf Links (par 72, 5874 yards). Bulldog sophomore Madison Gorman and freshman Hailey McLaughlin tied for sixth place at 146.
