Wingate, N.C.----The Wingate University women's cross country team finished fifth Saturday in the 2017 NCAA DII Southeast Region Cross Country Championships contested on its home course (women's 6K results; men's 10K results). Bulldog senior Madison Hiatt (Fresno, Calif.) finished sixth overall in 22:39.3. The top three teams and top two individuals advanced to the Nov. 18 National Championships in Evansville, Ind. Hiatt was the third individual not on a qualifying team, so she narrowly missed getting an invite to Nationals.
