Columbus, Ga.----The Wingate University Bulldogs opened the 2016-17 season with rounds of 295 and 284 Monday afternoon at the Cougar Invitational, hosted by Columbus State University. The two-day, three-round event is being held at the Country Club of Columbus, a 6,515-yard par 71 golf course. Lander is four-under through two rounds, leading North Alabama by two shots. Wingate is 15 shots off the lead, but only five shots behind sixth-place Young Harris.
