Hartsville, S.C.----The third-seeded Wingate University Bulldogs staved off elimination for the second time Friday, defeating fourth-seeded Carson-Newman 5-1 on day two of the 2016 South Atlantic Conference softball tournament. Wingate improves to 32-15 overall, while the Eagles are eliminated from the tournament, falling to 30-21 on the year. The Bulldogs are back in action Saturday at noon.
