Hickory, N.C.----The Wingate University men's track and field team leads the South Atlantic Conference championship meet after the first day of competition at the Irwin Belk Track. The Wingate women are second behind two-time defending champion Queens. The Bulldog men posted 53 points Friday, 10 points more than second-place Carson-Newman. On the women's side, Queens has 84 points, compared to 52.3333 markers for Wingate (Friday's results).
