Winston-Salem, N.C.----Wingate University senior Elliot Zirwas won the men's weight throw on the first day of the South Atlantic Conference indoor track and field championship meet at the JDL Fast Track (Saturday results; Sunday live video) Saturday. The SAC record holder in the weight throw, Zirwas collected his gold medal with a mark of 17.35 meters.
