Wingate, N.C.----The 18th-ranked Wingate University Bulldogs raced out to a 21-0 lead Saturday night, then held on for a 35-28 victory over visiting Newberry College in South Atlantic Conference football action at Irwin Belk Stadium. Wingate improves to 9-1 overall and 6-1 in the SAC, while the Wolves fall to 4-6 overall and 3-4 in league play.
