Tempe, Ariz.----Wingate University senior Michela Verpelli continues to pile up the awards, earning the Southeast Region's prestigious Arthur Ashe Leadership & Sportsmanship Award from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA). She was also named the region's Senior Player of the Year by the ITA. The ITA/Arthur Ashe Jr. National Leadership and Sportsmanship Awards honor outstanding individuals in all collegiate tennis divisions at the regional and national level, including NCAA Divisions I, II and III, NAIA and JUCO men's and women's players.
