Camden, S.C.----The Wingate University men's golf team is seventh after the first round of the 2019 South Atlantic Conference championships at the Camden Country Club (par 70, 6455 yards) Sunday. The Bulldogs recorded a 296, two shots behind sixth-place Catawba. Newberry made 21 birdies Sunday to take the first-round lead at two-under-par 278 (first-round results).
