Wingate, N.C.----I had the opportunity to travel to Haiti in August and serve on a medical mission trip. To this day, it's hard for me to explain the experience to others. The trip was just so surreal and opened my eyes in ways I never expected. I experienced both good and bad and often tell others that the trip was filled with both the happiest and saddest moments of my life. If I have to explain the trip in one sentence, I simply say "I left a piece of my heart in Haiti."
