Sapphire, N.C.----The Wingate University Bulldogs are tied for ninth after the opening round of the 2015 Hummingbird Intercollegiate, hosted by Western Carolina University. Wingate posted an opening-round 296 at the 6,767-yard par 71 Country Club of Sapphire Valley.
