Monroe, N.C.----The Wingate University women's golf team leads the South Atlantic Conference Preview tournament after Saturday's first round of play. The Bulldogs posted a 309, giving the hosts a six-stroke lead over their nearest competitor. WU senior Caitlin Starrs (Orchard Lake, Mich.) is second on the individual leader board following a first-round 74 (team and indvidual results).
